Cars

90's cars really took dive downhill. Many of the 90's "muscle cars" consisted of more safety regulations, smaller motors, less horsepower, and a futuristic look (which looked terrible). They even got rid of some of the older muscle cars, like the Chevelle, Challenger, Dart, and Nova. People in the 90's wanted more fuel efficient cars, so they started making more compact and fuel efficient cars, and importing more foreign cars, like Honda, Toyota, and Nissian.

Fads

90's fads included a lot technology, such as the playstation 1, which was a video game console. Its starting price was around $299, which at the time was very expensive but also very advanced in technology and very fun to play.
Many of the popular fads were toys, like Magical Nursey Babies, Stretch Armstrong, Giga Pets, Super Game Boy, and Pound Puppies. The most popular toy was probably the Easy Bake Oven or the Nursery Baby in my opinion, because every girl loved cooking with her Easy Bake Oven, while taking care of her Baby. It made children feel more like adults.

Skip it, Furbies, Beanie Babies, the majority of the popular fads pertained to children.

Movies in the 90's had a lot of technology added. Lots of movies starting uses special effects, such as adding sound effects, creating explosions, etc. Most were actions movies, such as Braveheart, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan, and Jurassic Park. Right behind action movies followed animation (cartoons). Since television became very popular with the population, children especially. Many movie companies came out with animation movies to appeal to the youth's population. Such as Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

Music in the 90's consisted of a lot of pop and r&b music, and your occassional
rock hair bands. Like Aerosmith, Will Smith, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Micheal Jackson, and Ace of Base. Most of the music as the decade progressed had turned into pop/r&b/dance. Many songs were about love and having fun.

Fashion

Fashion had a more reasonable look when compared to previous decades. In the early 90's men and women wore flannels and usually had some sort of piercings. Many girls had pierced ears, nose, etc. and it didn't take long before men decided to try it. Soon it became a sensible fashion for both men and women.

Mini skirts were worn with long blazers or jackets. One of the most popular accessories to use was the cinch belt, which was typically worn by women. Handbags and boots were also a major accessory. Mens and womens fashion overall made their appearance look smarter and stylish.
